East West Engineering is committed to assisting the training and development of the next generation of metal trades workers. As part of this commitment, East West Engineering has lent its ongoing support to the work experience program of local high schools.
Work placement is a mandatory component of HSC VET courses as it deepens student’s technical knowledge, develops skills and helps prepare them for real world work situations.
One student who recently participated in this program is James Forman; a year eleven student from The Forest High, Frenchs Forest, NSW, who spent a week with East West Engineering assisting tradesmen while getting a close-up look at the processes of metal fabrication and component assembly.
James, who intends to pursue a career in the metal trades industry after finishing high school, says of his time at the company; “Working at East West Engineering was a great experience. The guys were all really friendly & helpful and the time here provided a great insight into what working in the industry would be like”.
East West Engineering wishes James – along with all of our work experience students – all the best for their future careers.
